The schedule for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro via the Rongai Route typically spans several days to allow for proper acclimatization. Keep in mind that this schedule can be subject to change based on various factors such as weather conditions.Here’s a general outline:

Day 1: Arrive in Moshi or Arusha

Arrive in Tanzania, usually at Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Transfer to Moshi or Arusha, the gateway towns to Kilimanjaro.
Attend a pre-climb briefing to discuss the trek and ensure all preparations are in order.

Day 2: Rongai Gate to Simba Camp

Drive to the Rongai Gate for registration.
Begin the trek through dense forest and wildlife, reaching Simba Camp at a lower altitude for the first night.

Day 3: Simba Camp to Second Cave

Trek through the moorland zone, enjoying scenic views of Kibo and the Eastern Ice Fields.
Reach Second Cave for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Second Cave to Kikelewa Cave

Ascend through the moorland, passing the "Saddle" that lies between Kibo and Mawenzi.
Camp at Kikelewa Cave for the night.

Day 5: Kikelewa Cave to Mawenzi Tarn

Continue through the alpine desert, with spectacular views of Mawenzi..
Arrive at Mawenzi Tarn for the night, located near a picturesque glacial tarn.

Day 6: Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Hut

Ascend to Kibo Hut through the lunar desert landscape.
Prepare for the summit push and rest before the challenging night climb.

Day 7: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and descent to Horombo Hut

Begin the summit ascent in the early hours, reaching Gilman's Point at sunrise.
Continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
Descend to Horombo Hut for an overnight stay.

Day 8: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and departure

Descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate..
Receive your summit certificate and celebrate your accomplishment.
Transfer back to Moshi or Arusha for a well-deserved rest.
