Itinerary
Day 1 :Drive from Dar-es-Salaam to Ruaha National Park
7:30 am – Early morning flight at 10:30 am from Dar-es-Salaam to Ruaha National Park. You will be picked up by your driver guide at Msembe Airstrip and be taken to your lodge for lunch. Relax at lodge and discuss with lodge manager and your driver guide about your next day program. Flight time is 3 hours 7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight in Ruaha
Day 2 : Full day at Ruaha National Park
7:00 am – Breakfast 8:00 am – Full day adventure with lunch/picnic lunch in Ruaha National Park. Previous inaccessibility has made it unaffected by the ravages of mankind. It is Tanzania’s biggest elephant sanctuary and location of the Great Ruaha River flowing along its eastern border creating spectacular gorges. The Ruaha National park is home to hippo and crocodile, waterbuck, reedbuck, buffaloes, lions, leopards, hyenas, wild dogs, jackals and many elephants. Best time to visit is the dry season from May to December where animals are concentrated around the shrinking water courses. Activities consist of game drive, walking Safaris in the beautiful sceneries of the park accompanied by an armed ranger and nature guided walks. 7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight in Ruaha
Day 3 : Drive to Mikumi National Park from Ruaha
6:00 am – Breakfast 7:00 am – With picnic lunch drive to Mikumi National Park which is nestled between the Uluguru Mountains to the East and the Rift Valley Escarpments to the Southwest. It is close to the Selous ecosystem and therefore is part of it. It benefits from the highest game density of the entire conservation area. The Mikumi National Park obtains a good impression of the African animal world and is suitable very well for a short visit. When you arrive at Mikumi go for Game Drive in the park until evening. The travel time/distance is approximately (5 Hrs / 430 kms) 7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight in Mikumi
Day 4 : Full day at Mikumi National Park
6:00 am – Early morning Game drive at Mikumi National Park 8:00 am – After breakfast, with picnic lunch, drive to Selous Game Reserve for a full day at Selous 7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight in Selous
Day 5 : Drive back to Dar-es-Salaam
7:00 am – Early morning Game drive at Selous followed by late breakfast. After late breakfast drive back to Dar-es-Salaam
